Moving the Tide, Together

The name Karve comes from the Viking karve ship - a strong, versatile vessel built for exploration and for navigating challenging, unpredictable waters.”

Our Story

Karve Community Foundation was built on a belief most people feel instinctively but rarely say out loud: everyone deserves to move.

For many people living with spinal cord injuries, neurological conditions, or life-changing injuries, the opportunity to rebuild strength, pursue meaningful physical goals, and participate fully in life is limited by barriers that have nothing to do with their drive or determination. Financial constraints, lack of access, and inadequate support systems stand between people and the programs that can genuinely change their lives.

Our mission is to close that gap - through scholarships, education, and community programs that expand access to adaptive strength, performance, and movement opportunities.

Because movement is more than exercise. It is confidence. It is connection. It is the possibility of a fuller life.

For us, the karve represents the journey many people face after injury or diagnosis. The path forward can be unfamiliar and at times overwhelming - but with the right tools, the right people, and the right support, it is possible to keep moving forward. Like those ships of old, no one should have to make that journey alone.

Karve Community Foundation is deeply inspired by the spirit of Craig’s Crusaders - a community built around showing up for one another and believing in what is possible, even when the road is hard. The Crusaders showed us that resilience grows stronger in the presence of generosity, purpose, and belief. That spirit lives at the heart of everything we do.

Through scholarships, community programs, and partnerships with the people doing this work every day, we work to remove barriers and create opportunities for people to train, move, and live fully - helping move the tide toward a more inclusive future for adaptive movement and wellness.

Our Mission

Our mission is rooted in the belief that movement is more than exercise - it is a pathway to confidence, connection, and participation in the world around us.

By creating opportunities for people to train, build strength, and engage in their communities, we aim to help individuals move beyond limitations and toward fuller, more active lives.

We do this through scholarships and financial assistance, access to adaptive training and rehabilitation programs, education and community resources, and inclusive experiences that bring people together.

We believe that when people have access to movement - truly equitable access, everything else becomes more possible.
